Sweetest Day
So, Sweetest Day was Saturday just another day where you can look at it as either spending even more money on your significant other, or doing or giving them something meaningful that they will remember. For me on Sweetest Day I did get my boyfriend just some little stuff, pretty much food and he told me he wasn't getting me anything, well he did he got me roses and chocolates. Then my brother needed some help, didn't know what he should get his girlfriend and was pretty much thinking that Sweetest Day is just another dumb excuse where you have to get your girlfriend yet another present. I told him he just shouldn't get her anything and he laughed and said you know she would be mad if I didn't get her anything. Well in the end he ended up spending $90 on her. I guess I just thought this was interesting seeing how it seems to be the guys spending more money on the girls and that the guys feel they have to get something regardless or the girl will be upset. My brother seemed to have a reaction to 'Sweetest Day' where there should be more 'guy days'. I guess my boyfriend is maybe just used to it all since we have been dating for several years. Just was curious on others thoughts of this holiday, is it a holiday, or is it just another day where we get to spend more money?
My oldest brother thoroughly feels that Sweetest's Day and Valentine's Day are simply made up by Hallmark and other companies to boast their sales in the slow months where nothing is going on. I agree with this. I know one Sweetest Day, my now ex, bought me some stuff and when I asked what the occasion was, he laughed. Maybe that's just my opinion!
